BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
One can create beauty with a philosophy in mind –
a framework from which to design.
The following photos illustrate the principles that inspire my work.
STORY
I like to weave a story with my design work,
whether that story is inspired by my clients,
a special place or a product/business.
SENSE OF PLACE
Place inspires design.
I enjoy researching and discovering unique locations
for events and projects and also to encourage those
I work with to bring their own special places into the design mix.
NATURE & ENVIRONMENT
Landscape and geography are important in my work.
I pay homage to both by incorporating natural aesthetics in my designs.
I like to think of it as eco-chic!
FARM TO TABLE / FIELD TO FORK
I am inspired by the Slow Food movement and believe in designing
celebrations and gatherings around locally-sourced, organic foods
and working with chefs to create menus with seasonal reverence.
“Agriculture isn’t just another sector of industry like iron and steel, say,
but something much more complex than that. In reality, it is the fruit of a
holistic vision that takes in ‘sacredness’ of food, respect for the environment,
sociality, conviviality, and culture.”
- Carlo Petrini, founder of the Slow Food Movement
FLORAL BEAUTY
Flowers bring charm and beauty to any event, no matter how small.
I love working with florists that forage from the land, which brings an
element of local beauty that cannot be replicated.
I also appreciate local growers and their seasonal selections.
CREATIVE SCOUTING + SOURCING
Scouting unique items – everything from hand-crafted vessels to vintage goods -
allows me to breathe a unique and singular energy into events and projects.
CELEBRATION
Celebrations and gatherings are our most treasured ways to “stop time,”
enjoy each other, and reconnect with our sensual and joyous natures.
Beautiful design (and good food and spirits) makes guests want to linger.
COMMUNITY
I love building a network of creatives from which to draw inspiration and expertise.
